Neo-Terramycin has been removed from the CMIB
December 17, 2018
As of December 1st, 2018 Neo-Terramycin will have an inactive Health Canada Drug Identification Number (DIN) as the product’s growth promotion claim will no longer be valid. The product is currently undergoing review for a new therapeutic claim by the Veterinary Drugs Directorate (VDD). In the meantime, in the absence of a therapeutic claim veterinarians will be able to prescribe Neo-Terramycin for therapeutic purposes only by accessing it through Health Canada’s Emergency Drug Release (EDR) program for certain indications. Feed mills will then be able to mix the medication in feed pursuant to a veterinary prescription.
